- What is Hypnosis?

There are many different ways one can hypnosis here's 3 different ways to explain it:

  1. A deeply relaxed state of mind allowing you to go into a hyper-focused learning state, increased suggestibility & concentration.

  2. A delivery vehicle or tool that we utilise to get messages through that normally wouldn't in a normal state of mind.

  3. A tool in which we use to communicate with the the unconscious/subconscious mind to access resources from within.

- What is Strategic Psychotherapy?

Strategic Psychotherapy is when we are in the process of understanding of the behaviours and patterns that you're currently running, that are causing the challenge in your life to arise. Everyone is different in how they run their patterns/behaviours and we aim to uncover these patterns that aren't serving you and where there may be any experiential gaps or skills we implement a strategy to incorporate these until your life so that you have long-lasting change.

- What is Hypnotherapy?

Hypnotherapy is the method of inducing a trance-like state of deep relaxation in order to treats disorders of emotional, mental or psychological origin. It has been used for 1000's of years in many different cultures in different ways. It can also be utilised to create new behaviours, patterns, empowerment and overcome challenges that the client is facing. Check out "What is Hypnosis?" above for a better insight.

- What is Personalised Coaching?

From all the information that we receive from you, the challenge your facing, the patterns you're running, the skill gaps that there may be, or anything else that may could be preventing you from getting out of your feeling of "STUCK" and reaching the goals that you want to achieve. This is done by working out a strategy plan so that you get the most benefit over the time you take on the coaching program. Chris also caters to what you want, with a little sprinkle of what you may need. No one session is the same as there can be many things covered through out the program. One thing that's for sure though it can be one of the fastest ways to achieve your dreams.

- What Happens in a Session?

In your session, we want to utilise the most effective tools and strategies that will help you overcome, or change and shift what you want in your life. A session can undergo certain therapies from psycho-education, tools, techniques etc. specifically personalised to your goals & challenges that you're wanting to shift and change.

- How Does it Feel to be Hypnotised?

Hypnosis can feel much like a deeply relaxed state, however, some people can confuse it with sleep or think that when in a trance they disappear from their mind completely. While it is true that you may become deeply relaxed, some people can feel that they're floating, some people can feel that they're sinking, and some people can just feel that they're sitting in a chair with a higher focused attention state as to what is being said. There's no right or wrong way in what you experience, the best way to go into it, is an open mind, and letting go, without an expectation of what you're meant to experience.

- Will I Lose Control or be Stuck in Hypnosis?

No, not at all, if this was possible, you would've definitely heard about it. You have the ability to come out of it whenever you want, you can open your eyes.

- Can Everyone be Hypnotised?

Hypnosis is actually a very naturally occurring state that everyone actually goes to on a daily basis. I like to explain it in a way of brainwaves. We go through different brain wave states throughout the day, when we watch tv, read a book and we become so entranced into the story that we forget things going on around us like the time, someone talking to us etc.

Another fantastic way that everyone would be aware of now is the smart phones and how they distract us immensely putting us in a hypnotic state. More on brainwaves and explanations in hypnosis are covered in your sessions.

- Am I Unconscious/Asleep during Hypnosis?

Hypnosis is actually a very naturally occurring state

- What are the 5 Myths of Hypnosis?

  1. Hypnosis is Mind Control: Haha, my favourite.. due to the entertainment industry a lot of people think that it is mind control when in reality it is a psychodynamic loop between client and therapist. If it was mind control, you would hear about hypnotherapists either taking over the world or being the richest people in the world. It's important to understand here that as a hypnotherapist we're eliciting the resources within you by guiding you, giving you suggestions, and at any time you can open your eyes.

  2. You Have to be Weak-Minded: Whether you're super smart, or have a low IQ, it doesn't have relevance to if you can be hypnotised. Remember this is normal in our daily lives to go into this state.

  3. You Can Get Stuck in Hypnosis: Completely untrue. If it was true, you would hear many people or maybe even see many people just standing in the street randomly. The closest thing to being stuck in hypnosis would be when you're attached to your smartphone scrolling and 30 minutes goes past without you realising.

  4. You're Unconscious or Asleep During Hypnosis: While it is true that you can drift off to sleep, that's not the main goal. What we want to achieve, is an altered mental state of attention and focus, to activate the higher learning, to allow the subconscious to come up to the surface, whilst the conscious mind goes more into the background. It can get deep enough for it to feel like you're close to napping, but again you could just feel your eyes are closed, relaxed. It's more of a sleep of the nervous system.

  5. Secrets Can be Revealed in Hypnosis: Not at all, this would only be the case, if you actually wanted to share the secrets. Remember, you're in control of the process. We're just the guide or facilitator.

- How effective is it?

Research has found success rates of 90% for professionally conducted hypnotherapy.

- Is Online Therapy Effective?

In our modern age, we have access to digital means of therapy, some people can feel uncomfortable with this without experiencing it for themselves. Though more often than not the majority of people that feel uncomfortable find that it's actually extremely more comfortable due to them being able to do it from their own comfort zone, at their own convenience and allows them to save themselves times from travelling. It can be extremely valuable when giving psycho-education as it's all onscreen and handouts are sent through email so you always have a reference. There's many studies that provide evidence supporting the effectiveness of online therapy that can be found online.

Mind your Mind's works with clients all over the world who achieve great results, and have amazing shifts in their lives. We also understand and respect that some people prefer in-person therapy. We want you to get the most out of your sessions and and if you haven't done an online session before, maybe now is the time to experience it?

How Many Sessions will I need?

This will depend on what you've come in to work on. Results usually will happen after the first session. However, if you're working on something like anxiety, it could take up to 4-8 sessions as there's a lot of psycho-education and therapeutic tools & intervention involved to enable you to overcome debilitating anxiety in the future.

- How Long do Sessions go for?

The first session goes for 1.5 hours, and any subsequent sessions will go for 1 hour. If you would like to increase the amount of time in your sessions please get in contact and we will work out the best option for you.

- Is Hypnosis & Meditation the Same?

Very great question..they are very similar in nature. Guided Meditation would be the closest, though the difference between the two would be that guided meditation is mostly, to relax, to go into a mindfulness state, to calm the mind. Whereas hypnosis you're following what we're saying whether through a guided visualisation process so as to give instructions to the mind to program in new beliefs, behaviours, patterns, skills & tools.
